How texts start

There is no sign-up form for BookDawg texts. A text conversation starts only one of two ways.

  1. You text the shop first. When you text the shop's number, BookDawg replies in that same thread.
  2. You call and no one can take it. When you call the shop's number and no one can take the call, you hear a recorded message: "Sorry I missed your call. I'll text you a link so you can send me your request." The call ends, and you get one text from that same number with a link to send your request. After that, the only texts are about the request you sent through that link (a note that it was received, or a notice if the shop cancels it) and replies in the same thread.

Phone numbers entered on web or QR forms are never texted.

Message frequency varies: usually one text after a missed call, then only updates about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Privacy Policy ยท Terms of Service

Texting is not a condition of sending a request or of any purchase.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Shop owners get new-request alerts after they add their own mobile number in BookDawg settings.
